1 Day Awareness Camp for interstate adolescent girls
Kochi: The Women and Child Development Department, ASAP Kerala and Manav Migrant Welfare Foundation jointly organized a one-day camp for teenage girls from other states at the Edayar Ghanshyam Binani Community Hall. Binanipuram Sub-Inspector P G Hari inaugurated the program.
He said that students from other states should take advantage of the Kerala government's free education up to Plus Two and focus on excelling in their studies. Various agencies have also come forward to provide further study assistance. Special care should be taken to ensure that children coming from different states are not exploited.
Their safety is the responsibility of the Kerala society as the host.
Manav Foundation Vice Chairman MM Muhammad Umar presided over the event.
ASAP Program Manager Neethi, Manav Treasurer K. K Basheer and social worker P.E Shamsuddin spoke.

Secretary M.Y. Abdul Nasar proposed the vote of thanks. Social workers Semi P. B, Thajunnisa, Vijayalakshmi Dali, Manav Coordinator Munnu Pavithran and others conducted classes on the topics of child marriage and legal issues, child safety, menstrual hygiene and care, and the importance of schooling. Coordinators Umarul Farooq and Asadullah Diwan led the programs.
Free medical check-up was also conducted for the campers in collaboration with Kothamangalam Peace Valley Aster Medicity. Cultural programs were also staged in which the campers participated. More than 100 people participated as representatives. It was part of the Central Government's Beti Bachao Beti Padao scheme.
